Bathshua (Bath-shu'a)

Meaning: "daughter of abundance" / Daughter of an oath; Daughter of seven. Daughter of crying; daughter of opulence.

This was the name of two biblical women.

  1. A Canaanite woman married to Judah, referred to as Shua in Genesis 38:2, 12 and 1 Chronicles 2:3.

  2. The name Bathshua is a variant form of Bath-sheba the better known name of a wife of King David - See Bath-sheba.
