Meaning: petition

This was the name of two biblical men:

1. Judah's third son. He was a grandson of Jacob. His mother was Shuah, a Canaanite. He was born at Chezib. ( Gen. 38:2, 5, 11, 14).

2. A son of Arphaxad (1 Chr. 1:18).
