Living Out My YES, LORD Response. I am His. I am God's
property by HIS PURCHASE. I am His by MY SURRENDER, as I present
myself to Him. With that assurance, I will: Accept what
God gives-With joyful heart and continued thanks. Be content with what He
withholds-believing that it is for my good. YES, LORD...I bow to
Your loving sovereignty. Relinquish what He takes-companionship,
health, material things. YES, LORD...even these. Endure what He allows-in His strength,
not my own. Hold all earthly things loosely-Living
with eternity's values in view. Live today for Jesus Only-celebrate each
moment as a gift from God. The Holy Spirit...My "Meat Tenderizer" I discovered a spiritual
illustration in my kitchen cupboard! The label of my ADOLPH'S Meat
Tenderizer carries an extraordinary promise: Turns commonplace cuts
into gourmet products!
YES, LORD, I'm just a commonplace
cut, I'd' like to be a gourmet product fit for the Master's use, How
can this happen? Five simple steps are given:
The result of this painful process? I will
be a gourmet product, fit for my King! I will have a tender,
sensitive, responsive heart of flesh toward my Lord. A heart that
joyfully, quickly, genuinely responds to Him with a YES, LORD,
YES! The label on my jar of Meat Tenderizer says 100% Natural.
But God's spiritual process is 100% Supernatural. Man cannot
duplicate it. Only the Holy Spirit can prepare my heart to please
God.
Recently, the ingredients in my jar of Meat
Tenderizer have been modified. The label now reads: NO MSG.
Monosodium Glutamate was found to be injurious to our health. In
God's process of maturing me though trials, the Holy Spirit is the
only active ingredient-perfectly pure and always working for my
good.
YES, LORD... I trust your loving
work in my life! Habakkuk 3:17-19 For...
The prophet Habakkuk searched his own heart
to see how he would personally respond during a worst case
scenario...the total devastation of his agrarian world. Would he be
able to say, YES,LORD in the midst of all that God told him
would happen? His confident testimony is recorded in Hab.3:17-19.
"Though the fig tree should not
blassom, And there be no fruit on the vines,
Though the yield of the olive should fail,
And the fields produce no food,
Though the flock should be cut off from the
fold, And there be no cattle in the stalls,
Yet I will exult in the Lord, I will
rejoice in the God of my salvation.
The Lord God is my Strength..."
Let's imagine some worst case scenarios in
our present high tech society. How would we respond as Christians
IF-WHEN we face total economic, political, social disaster...and
personal abversity? In the format of Habakkuk's declaration:
"Though my husband loses his job, or
I, as a working single lose mine...
And there is no food on the table, or money
for rent mortgage...
Though unemployment benefits run out, all S
& L's fail and my life savings are wiped out... And the world's
stock markets crash...
Though earthquakes, floods, forest fires,
drought, tornados and hurricanes devastate America the Beautiful...
And our nation's food supply runs out, and
supermarkets are bare...
Though my children rebel, go on drugs, get
in trouble with the law, or are killed in a drive-by shooting...
Or serious illness strikes some of my
family members...
Or I am diagnosed with cancer...
Though my husband has a heart attack, and I
suddenly find myself a widow...
Though I grow old and Social Security and
Medicare is phased out, and pensions are canceled...
Or I am seriously ill, and Hillary's health
plan puts me at the bottom of the list because of my age...
Though the Lord uses a godless foreign
country to punish our disarmed America and we experience a surprise
nuclear attack...
Though our homes and everything we own are
confiscated...
Though the U.S. Constitution is revoked,
and our civil rights are null and void...
Though churches are closed, and Christians
taken by force to holding facilities...'
Could I still say, YES LORD, I
accept Your loving, sovereign hand on national affairs and in my
personal life? Could I affirm, YES LORD, come what may, I
believe Your promise: "I know the plans I have for you...plans
to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a
future..."(Jer 29:11).
"The Lord is ready to assume full
responsibility for the life wholly yielded to Him"(Andrew
Murray).
God will work all things for my good and for His glory!
